Job Description: HVAC Technician

Certified HVAC has immediate openings for experienced and motivated Service Technicians to maintain and service Commercial HVAC/R systems.

 

Duties include:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing HVAC systems such as rooftop package units, ventilation systems, etc.
  • Refrigeration equipment knowledge is a plus: Rack systems, walk-in coolers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, replacement, modifications, repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of commercial HVAC systems.
  • Control wiring and high voltage
  • Works in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Must work in a safe manner daily and ensure that all safety measures are always taken.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, on-call and weekends required.

 

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience
  • Ability to climb ladders.
  • Moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds)
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Electrical and Mechanical Diagnostic Skills
  • Ability to complete repairs and required paperwork.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Self-motivated to complete assigned tasks within time constraints.
  • Periodically ‘on call’ for service coverage
  • Local travel may be required.

 

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • EPA certification

 

Experience:

  • HVAC: 5 years
  • RTU’s up to 100 Tons
  • Water cooled and air-cooled chillers.
  • DX systems up to 100 Tons
  • Refrigeration: Rack systems, walk-in coolers
  • Pumps: Rebuild, Install/replace
  • Ice machines

 

License/Certification:

  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
  • EPA Certification- Type I & Type II or Universal Preferred
